CanTeen
From time to time we work with the fantastic folks at CanTeen because their members are a group of young people who will benefit from food education initiatives specifically designed to promote and understanding of food, health, nutrition and healthy food choices.
CanTeen is an Australian organisation for young people living with cancer. CanTeen was created by young cancer patients and its policies are guided by young people living with cancer. CanTeen has three groups of members, Patients (those diagnosed with cancer), Siblings (of those diagnosed) and Offspring (with a parent or carer who is living or has lived with cancer).
We have helped the national office and the member advisory committee develop a resource and recipes for offspring members and we have conducted cooking classes or food related activities for nearly all the State Branches.
We would like to develop a facilitators manual for the camp co-ordinators and provide a database of willing food professionals who would like to cook with or for this special group of people. We would also like to help them find benevolent suppliers of organic and quality food products so their camp food is interesting and nutritious.
If you can help, please call Kay 0414 678 816.
